The Santa Maria della Scala is participating in the 2026 edition of “Parole in cammino – Festival of Italian and the Languages of Italy”, scheduled to take place in Siena from April 21 to 24.
The festival, under the artistic direction of the linguist Massimo Arcangeli, is an occasion for meeting and debate dedicated to the Italian language and contemporary languages, with particular attention to the younger generations. The central theme this year is the “young word of the year”, an initiative that involved students and cultural organizations from all over Italy. For 2025 the word “chill” was chosen, selected by the Accademia della Crusca, to represent an idea of balance, tranquility and freedom from stress.
As part of the program, Wednesday, April 23 at 4:30 PM, in the S. Ansano Hall, will speak:
Chiara Valdambrini, director of the Antico Ospedale Santa Maria della Scala Foundation, together with Debora Barbagli, Davide Falletti, Maria Chiara Scopelliti and Stefania Villani
Michele Minacci, president of the Youth Council of the Municipality of Siena, with the talk “Siena, young people in the language”
